Palace Yellow

Nisheet

Once upon a time, not so long ago,
Lived a princess in the palace yellow
Her open hair pouring down, like a tide
Swirling about the ears on either side

As dusk fell, apart fell the long day
And the bright light faded away
She pulled the windows down
And sat in her wine-red gown

Among the leaves in the flowing air
There were two, small birds there
The princess whistled as the darkness grew
For they were lost, the red and the blue

To her left hand came the birdy blue
Then came the red to her right too
Relieved, they chirped so nice
Like a melody sweet and wise

Soon the moon walked into the sky
Along with the twinkling stars up high
Her weary eyelids became overweighed
And off to sleep she went, away she dozed

Many long hours had ticked until
The world fell to slience still
Then dawn came, and the sunrays grew
Giving a new light, and a day anew

It was now end of the long night stay
Blue and Red flapped their wings away
Thanking, off they flew to the horizon end
And the young queen, in her dreams, listened.
